Foster Animals
Our shelter is overflowing with immature, sick and injured animals who need the tender, loving care only our foster parents can provide.
Foster parents provide loving in home care to companion animals that are ill, injured or simply too young for adoption. The amount of care a foster animal needs varies widely - from bottle feeding kittens and puppies who need care every few hours to injured and recuperating adult animals who are fine at home all day while you work.
Update: We have lots of immature kittens and pregnant cats that need fostering as well. Any help you can give will be most appreciated.

Below are some of the animals looking for a foster home:
Animal type: Dog
Diva
A107243
Spayed Female, 10 years
Diva is about 10 years old. She is a black mastiff mix. She originally came to the shelter in December of 2006 to be boarded while her owners sorted out their living arrangements, but sadly they never returned for her. She has been up for adoption since then but no one has taken her home with them. Due the stressfulness of shelter life we feel that a foster home would be a suitable place for her. She is both dominant and territorial. She would do best in a house without stairs rather than an apartment because of her being territorial. She also isn’t very good with kids or other animals so she would prefer to be in a home without any children or any other pets. She is on daily medication to help with her pain as her hips just aren’t as good as they used to be. Diva is a very sweet older girl that just wants someone to love her and look after her. If you have experience with larger dogs that are territorial and dominant and think that you may be a good foster parent for Diva come down to the shelter or contact the foster department.

Animal type: Cat
Maple
A110615
Neutered Male, 9yrs
Maple is a 9 year old neutered male. He is a supper sweet cat that loves to cuddle and rub up against people. He is confident and extremely affectionate; he also plays fetch and will respond to his name. Maple is a diabetic cat so he needs to eat a special food specifically for cats like him. He also needs to get two shots of insulin daily, once in the morning and once at night. He doesn’t mind getting his shots as he is used to it and knows that he needs them to keep him healthy. He has perfect litter habits; since he has been in the shelter he has always used his litter box. Most of his life he has lived with other cats so he has no problem being in a house hold with other cats.
