My boyfriend Gordon and I adopted two cats, Oscar and Gizmo, on July 26th, 2006. I had seen them on the Toronto Humane Society website and fell in love with them when I saw them in person! They were not at all frightened when we brought them home. Within 20 minutes they were prowling around our apartment, investigating every corner. They quickly claimed the coffee table as their favourite spot, most likely because it is directly in front of the air conditioner! Oscar is very chatty and follows me throughout the apartment. Gizmo is more quiet, but both are very affectionate. They are constant companions, sleeping side by side and grooming each other. Gizmo has become my back-up alarm clock because he jumps on my bed and pats my arm with his paw as soon as my actual alarm clock sounds, and will not desist until I rub his belly. Both enjoy the cardboard scratching boxes we bought them, and both love to sleep in boxes in our recycling pile!

Recently, Gordon heard from his Aunt that Oscar and Gizmo had been the Pets of the Week on CFRB 1010. We're so proud to have such “famous” cats!

I'm very glad that we chose these two kitties to be ours. I really appreciate all the work the THS staff did to care for Oscar and Gizmo during their stay. I could tell during the adoption process how much each person cared for them, every staff person that I came in contact with said “Oh, Oscar and Gizmo! They're GREAT cats!” So true!
