Shabbas

Shabbas "Hi

About 2 years ago, my husband and I were downtown when it started to pour. We didn't know what to do. My husband out of nowhere suggested to go to the Humane Society.

We were not planning on adopting a pet. I grew up with a dog and only knew to love dogs. We did not have a good relationship with cats. But I knew the work involved with a dog and knew with my husband's and my lifestyle that a dog was out of the question for now.

When we came to your place, we were overwhelmed with the cats and not knowing where to start or whether or not to even think about adopting a cat. I adopted my childhood dog from the pound and just knew right away which dog was coming home. But with cats I wasn't sure what to look for.

One of your staff approached us and told us that we looked very confused. There were two cats that caught our attention and we sat with the staff just to get a feel for what we were getting ourselves into before meeting the cats. One cat was 2 and the other was 4 years old. The 4 year old, Jet, was so friendly that we knew, he was the one. We brought him home that day.

His name is Shabbas now and I can't imagine our lives without him. I did not know that cats can have such an affect like a dog...I'm a converted cat lover. We have been working with a vet to get him the right weight (which he is now) and to clean up some of the tatar he had on his teeth and he's perfect. He could play and cuddle all day...so perfect for us. He is so good too!!! Once you tell him no, he doesn't do it again - which I find absolutely amazing.

Anyways, I always wanted to send a thank you to you and your staff!!! It was the best decision we ever made. Now that our family is growing (a baby due in July) I feel like our family will be complete now...except I'm trying to convince my hubby to adopt another cat - but he says not unless I take over the poop duties - we'll see.

Thank you again,"

Sasha and Ian.
