Toronto Humane Society Holds Final Adoption Blitz

(Toronto – August 25, 2005) In a continuing effort to encourage the public to adopt a new best friend, The Toronto Humane Society is waivng adoption fees for cats, dogs, and small domestic animals. excluding rabbits, during its final adoption event of the summer. Adoption fees are waived from friday, August 26 through to closing on Sunday, August 28.

“A steady stream of animals arrives at our doors daily,” says Society President, Tim Trow. “We have been successful in finding loving homes for over 2,500 animals this summer and we have the public to thank for that.” The Toronto Humane Society has over 450 cats, 100 dogs and 40 small domestic pets ready for adoption.

During adoption hours, animal experts will be on hand: feline evaluators, canine evaluators, trainers, and veterinarians. The Society’s standard adoption process will apply and potential guardians must complete an adoption application and successfully go through the interview process.

Each adoption includes:

  • Vaccinations to date
  • Six weeks Pet Plan insurance
  • Microchip identification implant
  • Flea control treatment
  • Cat care information booklet
  • Many shelter animals have already been spayed or neutered

The adoption hours for Friday, August 26 are 12p.m. – 8p.m. and the adoption hours for Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 are 11a.m. – 6p.m.

The Toronto Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization solely funded through charitable donations. Its mission is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.
