GIVE THANKS FOR THE JOY A PET BRINGS THIS THANKSGIVING
( Toronto – October 6, 2005) Every pet guardian knows the joy an animal brings to his or her life. The Toronto Humane Society urges anyone thinking of adopting a pet to bring a best friend home this Thanksgiving.
“Adoption fees are waived for dogs and cats this Thanksgiving weekend,” says Lynda Elmy, communications manager. “What better time than Thanksgiving for potential adopters to experience and be thankful for the joy a pet brings to our life?”
The Toronto Humane Society is crowded with cats, kittens and dogs deserving of the love and warmth a new home will provide. Potential adopters will follow the adoption process by filling out an application and participating in an adoption interview.
Included with each adoption:
- Vaccinations to date
- Six weeks Pet Plan insurance
- Microchip identification implant
- Flea control treatment
- Cat or dog care information booklet
- Many shelter animals have already been spayed or neutered
Adoptions start on Friday, October 7 through to closing on Monday, October 10.
Adoption Hours: Friday – 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday – 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Monday – 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
For adoption information, or to view the many adorable animals looking for new homes, go to Adopt a Pet or visit the shelter at 11 River St.
The Toronto Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization solely funded through charitable donations. Its mission is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.
