THS Heads to New Orleans
Tom Borscevski and Will Robinson, Toronto Humane Society Canine Coordinators, are in New Orleans with 2000 lbs of supplies including; food, medication and dog crates.
* Follow Tom and Will as they journey south and work to save the animals.
Tom Borscevski and Will Robinson, Toronto Humane Society Canine Coordinators, packed our van last week with food, supplies and kitty litter and are now distributing them to displaced people and their pets. Tom and Will are also building dog runs and shelters.
"We are really just going where the help is most necessary for animals in need", says Tom.
Our contribution is small compared to the need, but it is heartwarming when our American neighbours wave and give a thumbs-up with a smile when they see our van bearing the name "Toronto Humane Society".
*please revisit this page for updates and photos from Tom and Will's mission to help.
Several of us were blessed today to be able to work with Tom and Will in Houston! We volunteered to vaccinate and tag animals, and the food Tom and Will donated was so well received by so many. We didn't have the traffic we had hoped for, but Tom and Will's presence was so great. We sure do appreciate what they have done to help the animal victims of this storm. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for what you have done to help us down here. I'm sure Tom and Will about died with the heat and humidity....nothing like up in your gorgeous part of the world!!!
Sincerely,
Jane Maiers
Houston, Texas

Thank you for helping us with our relief effort, these animals need your support.
Tom Borscevski and Will Robinson have returned from their hurricane Katrina relief efforts. They were able to deliver over 2000 lbs of food and build dog crates for animals in need. They were even able to return with six dogs from Texas so that the Houston Humane Society could free up some space for animals left homeless after Katrina. Tom and Will were able to provide support for the animal emergency services in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas.
The Toronto Humane Society is extremely grateful for the support it received from the public. Tom and Will have completed an incredible mission and have returned safely. “I entered one temporary shelter in Texas that was holding over 300 dogs, as well as many cats, birds, squirrels and snakes. It was very difficult seeing so many animals in need of help at one time, but our help was greatly appreciated and we did make a difference,” says Tom.
