The Toronto Humane Society Reunites Hamilton Kitty with Her Family
Toronto (July 29, 2006): This morning, The Toronto Humane Society was thrilled to reunite “Rambling Rose” with her family. The nine-month-old cat, named Tilly, managed to travel undetected from Hamilton to Toronto in the wheel well of a delivery truck on Wednesday, July 26.
“My husband saw her picture in the Hamilton Spectator this morning,” said Jane St. Germain, Tilly’s mom. “He flew up the stairs and shouted ‘we have to go to The Toronto Humane Society’, and then he showed me Tilly’s picture in the paper.” The St. Germains are ecstatic to have their baby back. “She is a very special little cat,” said Jane. “We love her very much.”
“We see so many lost cats and dogs come through our doors who never find their guardians,” said Lynda Elmy, Communications Manager for the Society. “We are very happy this story had a happy ending for the St. Germains and for Tilly.”
As a not-for-profit organization the Society is funded solely through charitable donations. Its mission is to promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.
