Menna Again Challenges The Toronto Humane Society

Order to visit veterinarian is “in bad faith”

After being ordered to return Chrissy the Cockatoo to Elaine Menna, The Toronto Humane Society served Menna with an Order, which would require her to take the bird to a veterinarian of her choice for a physical examination. The Order requires Mrs. Menna to have Chrissy examined by a liscenced veterinarian no later than June 10, 2006 and to have an appropriate cage for Chrissy.

Menna has now approached the Animal Care Review Board and has asked that the Board revoke the Order.

The Humane Society recieved a letter from Menna's lawyer a few days after the Order was issued, stating the the Society issued the Order, made under the Ontario S.P.C.A. Act, “in bad faith and without any foundation.”
