Lost pets and other animals in need of shelter have now become pawns in a silly game of funding brinkmanship with the Province.

Starting on September 10, the 4 remaining Toronto Animal Services shelters will be closed on Mondays as a "cost saving measure" and lost animals or those needing shelter are locked out. Literally locked out, running loose, abandoned, etc.

• Don't let the animals get caught in the middle. Contact your councillor and let her or him know what you think.
