Cat rescued from high-rise blaze
Toronto Fire Services called upon the Toronto Humane Society to assist in the rescue of a cat trapped in an apartment fire Wednesday afternoon. While firefighters dealt with the blaze, THS animal cruelty investigator Tre Smith entered the apartment and wrangled the frightened orange tabby. The cat was treated by THS vets and then released to its owner.
Two other cats in the apartment -- a second orange tabby and a black cat -- escaped from the building before the THS arrived. They were last seen near the intersection of Jarvis St. and Isabella. If you find these cats, please bring them to the THS at 11 River St., where they'll be reunited with their owner.
