The Toronto Marlies pulled off two big wins Sunday (March 30th) when they defeated the Lake Erie Monsters 6 to 1 and raised a whack of cash for their new favourite animal do-gooders, the Toronto Humane Society.
As the puck was passed, hips were checked and the play by play announcer’s voice rose into the high frequency range that only dogs could hear, volunteers mingled with the crowd and filled donation boxes destined to help animals at The Toronto Humane Society.
Also on-hand at the afternoon game was Agent Tre Smith, Toronto Humane Society’s ever-stunning Animal Cruelty Investigator. Tre answered questions lobbed at him by Marlies’ host Gail Ordough and the interview echoed through the Ricoh Coliseum as it was beamed onto the jumbo scoreboard over centre ice.
We’re still tallying up the donations at The Toronto Humane Society, but we want to thank the Toronto Marlies for their generous support.
