Chonk and LB

Chonk and LB

January 23, 2020

When we saw the picture of Little Boy (formerly Mr. Corney) and his sweet little face and eyes, we knew he was the one. When we went in to go see him, we were told that he was actually part of a bonded pair. As soon as we met Chonk (formerly Mayle) and LB, I think we knew right away that we wouldn’t be able to say no to both of them. They warmed up to us immediately and we loved how floofy they were. We were told that they had just been returned from a previous adoption and we knew it was meant to be.

Once we got them home, they didn’t even last ten minutes in the sanctuary room before they wanted to go explore. Chonk was immediately comfortable but poor LB hid in a closet for weeks. LB was really anxious and really small compared to Chonk when we got them. We figured out it was because Chonk was always stealing LB’s food. We started feeding them separately and noticed positive changes in LB. He finally warmed up to us and wouldn’t hide in the closet all the time.

They both turned 8 last month. LB put on a couple of kilos and is now considered healthy. They are also now West Coast Kitties! We moved to Vancouver a couple of weeks ago. They traveled so well on the plane and adjusted to their new home no problem. Yesterday was our one year adoptaversary and one year as a family. They are silly, sassy, great little snugglers and we can’t imagine life without them. We are so happy we ended up with two and would adopt all of the kitties if we could.
