It has now been just over 2 months since we brought Koda (previously Matt) home, and he’s really made himself comfortable! It took a little bit at first, but he’s finally realized that when we leave the house, we always come back for him. He knows we’re his forever home/humans and it’s been amazing to see his confidence grow!

What stood out to us most when we first saw him was his temperament and calm demeanor - something he still has and he’s been great with gentle introductions to kids, dogs, adults and others in the neighbourhood! We often say that we got really lucky with him, and we mean it. We are so happy we were able to find our newest family member at the Toronto Humane Society and are so excited for his first holiday season with us as well as his next adventure: recreational agility classes!

Fun facts: Koda likes to make grandpa groans when relaxed, enjoys tearing stuffing out of freshly destroyed plush toys (but not eating any of it, thank goodness), chasing squirrels, and playing with any and every dog he can find smile

We wanted to say thank you, to all the THS staff who facilitated the adoption process and fielded our many phone calls while waiting for him to become available!
