About a month ago, I saw Ness. I was browsing Toronto Humane Society’s website just looking at the animals that needed homes. I always gravitate to the small animal section. I scrolled through the seemingly endless posts of adorable fluffies needing forever homes. Then, I had a Nessie sighting. I was in love.

There are a number of ways that a bearded dragon will, generally, show that they feel comfortable around you. Pressing flat against you while holding them is one, and another is them closing their eyes. It took about 5 minutes of Ness being gently covered in my hoodie to calm, breathe in a relaxed way, and several times close his eyes.

Now he’s at home, he’s happy, chillin, and living his extra life.
