Penelope and Sadie

Penelope and Sadie

November 30, 2020

It’s been just over a year since I adopted Penelope and Sadie (previously Phoebe and Suzy Q) and it was the best decision I could have made. Going in, I had only planned to adopt one cat. Suzy Q chose herself for me while I was walking by. Upon finding out there were a bonded pair, it took me a total of 30 seconds to decide I was taking them both home!

The first few months were rough, but finally things settled in, and I’ve earned their trust as an owner, which is all I could have asked for.

Their one-year adopt-aversary had us moving across the city but they didn’t bat an eye. They immediately explored our new place and are enjoying the extra space they have to chase their toys.

They’ve both come out of their shells! Sadie had a bit of a spicy side at first, and Penelope was so skittish she wouldn’t let me touch her if it wasn’t on her terms. But now, both love to cuddle up on me on the couch and Penelope has started letting me kiss her forehead!

I can’t thank Toronto Humane Society enough for giving me my babies, who have made a world of a difference during COVID-19 when contact with other humans is limited.
