Willow

Willow

April 23, 2020

This is Willow. Short for Pussy Willow, because that’s what she reminded me of when I first saw her. She didn’t always look this good or feel so secure though. When we found each other on March 16, 2015 we were both going through a difficult time. My beloved husband was very ill and would die of Parkinson’s Disease within three months and she had just been rescued from a hoarder’s home which she shared with 39 other cats. She was tiny at three years, undernourished, had mites, eye and urinary tract infections and a broken canine tooth which needed to be extracted. She was in the vet clinic for a while getting better before we met.

She was so skittish, fearful of boots and very shy at first, but so gentle and ultimately has become a real cuddle bug! We’ve both come a long way since then and now with COVID-19 I couldn’t ask for a better isolation companion. She makes me laugh, gives me unconditional love and I can have big hugs whenever I want. A friend refers to her as “Healing Willow” and she certainly has been for me. Adopt an animal in need. You will receive more than you could ever give.
