New Adoption Process Coming Your Way

New Adoption Process Coming Your Way

October 17, 2020
As we all work through this pandemic and the changes to life it brings with it, we discover and try new things; we adapt. At the beginning of all these changes, Toronto Humane Society reacted and adjusted our processes to bring you virtual adoptions! We are thrilled to tell you today, that over this same time period we have received over 10,000 applications to adopt! As you can imagine, these applications take time to sort through and created a significant wait time for many who wanted to adopt. This fantastic response has in turn, pushed us to adapt our process once again. Launching very soon, will be our new adoption process, which will allow you to schedule an available appointment, within 48 hours. Each day, more appointment slots will open up, so if you miss your chance, check back the next day! While we make the transition into this process, we will be pausing all new adoption applications from coming in. During this period we will be catching up on the already submitted applications. Stay tuned to our website and social media for the exact date in which we will be launching this exciting new process!

Toronto Humane Society believes Black Lives Matter

June 06, 2020
At Toronto Humane Society, we strongly condemn all acts of racism including police brutality and racial profiling against the Black community. We recognize that this is not just an issue we see in the United States, but one that exists globally and right here in our own backyard. Systemic racism will not be fixed by one organization or one voice, it is going to take society to come together to make this change. The humane community we have been fighting for cannot exist so long as systemic racism does, and up until now we have been structurally blind to its impact and effects on and within our organization.
