Lakeview Dog Dip: Rules & Safety Guidelines

The Lakeview Dog Dip Party is almost here, and we can’t wait to see your pups make a splash! To keep things safe, fun, and stress-free for everyone, we’ve put together some important rules and guidelines. Please give these a read before arriving so you and your furry friend are fully prepared.

Maximum Capacity: Only 30 dogs are allowed in the pool at a time.

Supervision: A certified trainer and staff will be onsite to keep an eye on the dogs in the pool area. If a dog is struggling to play nicely, we may ask them to take a break.

Dog-to-Human Ratio: Each dog must be accompanied by at least one pet parent, with a max of two people per dog due to space. Leash Rules: Dogs must arrive and leave on a leash. Once in the water, leashes must be removed for safety—they can be a hazard if left dragging.

Guardian Responsibility: Handlers must supervise their dogs at all times, keeping leashes handy to retrieve them if necessary.

Dog-Only Pool: This is strictly a dogs-only pool—no humans allowed in the water.

Temperament: Only well-socialized, dog-friendly pups are allowed. Dogs showing aggression toward other dogs or people will be asked to leave.

Recall Skills: Dogs should have good recall, and handlers must always remain attentive.

Swimming Safety: Dogs that don’t know how to swim or are new to deep water should wear life jackets. Introduce dogs to water slowly and at their own pace. Some breeds are chest-heavy and may not swim well—some dogs enjoy just splashing or watching from the sidelines.

Leash-Free Play: Once in the pool, dogs are off-leash to prevent accidents.

Deck Safety: Dogs should not run on slippery pool decks to avoid injury to themselves and others.

Proof of Vaccination: All dogs must show proof of current vaccinations on entry (rabies, DHPP, bordetella recommended).

Illness Check: Dogs should be free of illness, open wounds, or parasites. Dogs showing signs of diarrhea, coughing, or fleas/ticks will not be allowed.

Clean-Up: Pet parents should be prepared with poop bags in case of accidents.

Only children 12+ may attend, and they must be closely supervised. Dress Code: Expect to get splashed—wear water-friendly clothing and shoe

Emergency Vet: The Veterinary Emergency Clinic & Referral Centre, 920 Yonge St. Suite 117, Toronto (entrance on McMurrich St.) Incident Reporting: Any injuries, bites, or illnesses will be documented right away.

Shade and Water: Rest areas with shade and plenty of fresh drinking water will be available.

Heat Safety: The event is scheduled during cooler hours, but please watch your pup for signs of heat stress.

Drying Station: Towels are available, but bringing your own is recommended. Lifejackets: A limited number of dog lifejackets will be provided—if your pup needs one, please bring your own if possible.

Waivers: All participants must sign a liability waiver before entering.

Rules Signage: Pool rules will be posted at all entrances for easy reference.

Capacity: Attendance is limited to 30 dogs in the pool area to prevent overcrowding and to keep the vibes calm and fun.
