This holiday season, every pet deserves to be wrapped in care. For some, that means a warm bed and a family to come home to. For others, it starts with the veterinary care, nutritious food and daily support they need to grow healthy and strong. 

For 12 puppies affectionately known as the Pizza Topping Puppies, that care helped prepare them for the next chapter of their lives. 

Twelve Puppies, One Big Journey 

When 12 puppies affectionately known as the Pizza Topping Puppies arrived at Toronto Humane Society, they were around eight weeks old and just beginning to explore the world. They needed a safe place to grow, nutritious meals, veterinary care, and plenty of attention along the way. 

Our veterinary team provided their initial health checks and neutering procedures, while staff continued to monitor the puppies as they recovered. When some experienced digestive upset, the team investigated, provided treatment and adjusted their care to help them feel better. 

Each step mattered. From routine veterinary procedures to monitoring their health and making sure they were ready for adoption, the puppies received the care and support they needed to prepare for life in their new homes. 

Today, all 12 puppies have been adopted. Each has begun a new chapter with a family of their own — a happy outcome made possible by the people who helped care for them along the way. 

Their story is a reminder that every adoption is supported by a network of care. Donor generosity helps make that care possible, for puppies like these and for the many other animals who come through Toronto Humane Society’s doors.
