A real page turner

2018 was a big year for our humane education program. We hosted nearly 20 classes of students from all over Toronto. We saw so many bright young faces stop by to work their reading magic on some of our shy shelter animals, all while learning about animal welfare, pet behaviour and communication.

Now that we’re in 2019, we have a whole new gang of listeners who can’t wait for story time!

Reading Buddies is a great experience for both students and pets: students get to practice their reading skills in-front of the furriest, friendliest, and most non-judgemental audience ever; at the same time, our shelter animals get that much needed company and socialization which, in the end, helps them get adopted.
