Cat Fefe our Humane Champion Story

AJ

| July 1, 2026

AJ arrived as a small, energetic dog with a big personality—and a history that showed he struggled most when his environment felt unpredictable. In the shelter, those early challenges meant his behaviour could vary depending on the situation, especially during moments of excitement or uncertainty.

To help him succeed, the team focused on consistency, routine, and clear handling strategies. Over time, his support plan was adjusted so that he could remain calm enough to participate in daily care and transition more comfortably through the shelter environment. The goal was to give him the structure he needed so his friendly, social nature could come through more consistently.

During his stay, AJ also received a full grooming “fresh start,” including a much-needed haircut that helped him feel cleaner, more comfortable, and ready for adoption.

AJ underwent a routine neuter surgery, which went smoothly and without complications. After recovery, he quickly returned to his bright, social self and was medically cleared for adoption.

With stability in place and clear guidance prepared for his future home, AJ was able to move forward into adoption. His new family received practical recommendations to help maintain consistency and support him as he settles into home life.

AJ has since been adopted and is now beginning his next chapter in a home where structure, patience, and understanding are helping him thrive.
