Emjay
Emjay
At 7 years old and a solid 90 pounds, this lovable bulldog is equal parts personality and heart. He's been waiting patiently for almost a year, watching other dogs come and go-but through it all, Emjay has held onto his hope and his big, loving spirit. He is more than ready to leave shelter life behind and finally find a place to call home.
Emjay has come an incredibly long way during his time with us. When he first arrived, he found being around other dogs very challenging. Through patience, support, and a lot of hard work, he's made truly impressive progress. Today, Emjay can walk calmly past other dogs without reacting, and he has even shown that he could build friendships with the right canine companions. With slow, thoughtful introductions and a family experienced in dog-to-dog dynamics-along with opportunities for everyone to have their own space-Emjay has the potential to successfully share a home.
When it comes to people, Emjay is an absolute gem. He is friendly and affectionate with everyone he meets and thrives on human connection. He loves to play, especially a good game of tug, and is a big fan of chewing on his favourite toys. Like many playful dogs, he benefits from gentle guidance in learning when to take breaks-but he's eager to engage and bond with his person.
Once he's comfortable in his environment, Emjay can also be quite independent. He's perfectly happy to spend time doing his own thing, especially if he has a cozy spot and a toy nearby. In fact, he's a world-class couch potato-content to lounge, soak up snuggles, and enjoy a calm, relaxed home. And in true bulldog fashion, he's also a champion snorer, sure to keep you company with his signature sleepy soundtrack.
And when Emjay has something to say, you'll hear it-he has a beautiful, rich voice and can be quite the chatterbox. Whether he's greeting you, asking for attention, or just joining the conversation, it's all part of his one-of-a-kind personality.
If you already have a dog and are interested in adopting Emjay, we encourage you to speak with one of our adoption agents about how to make introductions in a way that sets everyone up for success.
It's Emjay's turn now.
