A home until the right
Forever Home is found

We firmly believe that combatting animal homelessness is about working together to assist as many animals inneed as possible. We make every effort to ensure that all animals in our community, and beyond, have access to care and shelter.

We create partnerships and alliances that are far reaching

As leaders in animal care and sheltering services, we have formed strong partnerships with various animal rescue organizations and communities throughout Ontario, across Canada, and in North America. Through these relationships we strive to reduce euthanasia across all of our partner communities.

Many of these regions face pet over-population challenges. We work with local organizations to provide relief by transferring animals into our care. Many of these animals find homes within a few short weeks.

The more network partners we have, the more lives we can save

We are looking to build meaningful partnerships that go beyond transporting animals from one place to another. These partnerships will help to address the root causes of pet overpopulation. We work with communities and agencies on an individual basis to provide programs and services so that  on-going transport and re-location may no longer be needed.

Some of our current Transport Network Partners include:

  • Kingston Humane Society
  • The Humane Society of Durham Region
  • Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society
  • Burlington Humane Society
  • Oakville and Milton Humane Society

If you are a member of an agency or group in-need of assistance, please contact our Rescue Team at rescue@torontohumanesociety.com.

Your support can help re-home more animals

In 2019 our Animal Transport program helped transfer more than 1,700 animals from various  agencies and communities. If you would like to contribute and support our Animal Transport program please click here.
