Toronto Humane Society Offers Treats, Tips, and Fun Ideas for You and Your Pet

TORONTO, ON – October 23, 2024. Halloween is a time for costumes, fun, and sweets – but let’s not forget our furry family members who want to join in the celebrations! Toronto Humane Society reminds pet parents to make Halloween fun and safe for pets while offering some delightful ways to treat them. This year, the organization is excited to share a special, dog-friendly treat recipe and highlight its Pumpkin Spice (and Everything Nice) Shop, where every donation helps shelter animals feel the holiday spirit!

A Trick-Free Halloween for Pets

While the sights and sounds of Halloween can be thrilling for humans, they might be overwhelming or stressful for pets. Toronto Humane Society encourages pet parents to create a calm and comfortable environment for their pets by keeping them inside during the festivities. And while humans may indulge in their favourite Halloween candies, it’s important to remember that many human treats – especially chocolate and sweets containing xylitol – are harmful to animals.

That doesn’t mean pets should miss out on the fun! Pet parents can whip up something special to treat their furry friends this Halloween.
