| July 13, 2025

As temperatures rise, your pet deserves more than just water breaks—they deserve a cool treat! With these simple, pet-safe frozen ideas, you can help your pet chill out in the tastiest way possible.

For Dogs: Frozen Peanut Butter Banana Bites

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp xylitol-free peanut butter
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt

Instructions:

  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  • Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or an ice cube tray.
  • Freeze for 3–4 hours.
  • Pop one out for your pup to enjoy on a hot day!  You could also put this spread into a KONG toy for extra fun!

For Cats: Frozen Fish Treats

Freeze a squeeze-style cat treat (like a tube treat) for a cool and easy-to-lick snack straight from the fridge or freezer. You can also freeze wet food or low-sodium tuna water in an ice cube tray—just serve it on a dish or lick mat for some chill enrichment.

For Special Species: Frozen Fruit & Veggie Cubes

Chop up rabbit- and guinea pig-safe fruits or veggies like:

  • Cucumber
  • Bell pepper
  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Carrot slices

Place the pieces in an ice cube tray, fill with water, and freeze. Pop one out during hot weather and let your small pet lick, nibble, or nose around as the ice melts.

Important: Always introduce frozen items slowly and offer in moderation to avoid digestive upset.

These frozen snacks aren’t just adorable—they’re a fun, hydrating way to help pets stay safe and comfortable during a heatwave. Try one out today and tag us in your frozen pet treat creations!
