Under the cozy glow of holiday lights, we find ourselves reflecting on the countless miracles that happen when a community comes together. Your compassion has the power to create miracles for animals like Dji Dji, a senior dog whose unbreakable bond with her guardian, Rumina, was put to the test when she developed a life-threatening uterine infection called pyometra.  

Rumina faced an insurmountable vet bill, and her heart ached at the thought of an alternative she couldn’t bear. In those challenging moments, the fear and uncertainty felt by Dji Dji were palpable, unable to express her pain or understand the challenges ahead. In a desperate bid to save her cherished companion’s life, Rumina turned to Toronto Humane Society. Thanks to the swift action of our team and the support of donors by our side, Dji Dji received the emergency surgery she desperately needed. Now, as our city glows with festive lights, Dji Dji is back where she belongs – by Rumina’s side, wagging her tail with joy ready for the holidays.
