In 2017, I adopted Martin from Toronto Humane Society. He had been there for months because he was shy and scared, locked up in a room all by himself.
It was love at first sight! I had just lost my first cat to cancer and didn’t know how I could ever replace the void he left. I went to Toronto Humane Society that day not knowing what would happen, but it was a day that changed my life.
Martin was 8 years old when I adopted him in February 2017. If anyone remembers him, please know that he is happy, spoiled, and still living his best life. He is 16 now and has overcome cancer! He has had almost all his teeth removed and is the biggest, sucky, cuddly gentle giant.
We have celebrated birthdays, had adventures, perfected the art of cuddling, and to my surprise, he can now tell time… because if breakfast is late… He even has a baby brother now, adopted from a rescue in Ottawa, which is where we currently live.
You rescued him, and he in turn rescued me. I am grateful every day for that trip to Toronto Humane Society and for the love and care you gave him so he could find his way to me.
