When Pepper’s family was unable to house themselves and their cat, they reached out to Toronto Humane Society so their cat would have a stable home while they worked on finding a home for themselves. 

When Pepper came to us, she was examined, and any urgent medical issues were dealt with – then Pepper was sent to a loving foster home. The foster parent kept the family updated with photos and anecdotes and it wasn’t too long before the family and Pepper were reunited. 

Here’s what Pepper’s family had this to say about the Urgent Foster Care program: “…Like me, all they cared about was making sure Pepper was safe and cared for. There was no judgment, no questions – just reassurance and compassion.”
