Tula was transported to Toronto Humane Society from another animal welfare organization.
As Tula was stressed when she arrived, she needed special care to get comfortable enough to have her intake done. Tula had hair loss and scabs all over her body and our medical staff found many ticks that they removed from her skin.
Although Tula tested negative for heartworm, she was positive for Lyme disease. The treatment for Lyme disease can take up to four weeks.
As Tula needed time to recover from Lyme disease and to gain weight, she went into our foster program. Her foster family reported that she was scratching a lot, so a soothing bath medication was prescribed and it worked wonderfully.
Tula has been adopted.
