Tora
Tora
Some bonds aren't loud or showy. Sometimes, they're simply about having someone familiar beside you when everything else feels uncertain and frightening. Meet Hazy and Tora, a 13-year-old brother-and-sister duo who have spent their entire lives together. And we would really love for their next chapter to be together, too.
These two have lived with their mom and siblings in an auto shop all their lives. It's the only home they've ever known, surrounded by familiar smells, sounds and faces. Now, everything has changed. The shelter is a big, overwhelming place, and both have been understandably frightened and shut down since arriving.
Hazy is the more outgoing of the two. She enjoys gentle petting with time and is likely to be the first to let you know that a little attention is welcome. Tora is more timid and less comfortable with people, and will likely need extra patience and time to discover that humans can be trusted. But that's okay. At 13, there's no need to rush anything.
They may not be inseparable cuddle buddies or the kind of siblings who spend all day grooming each other, but they have known one another their entire lives. They play, sleep together and find comfort in each other's familiar presence. When the world feels uncertain, having a familiar face nearby matters.
We believe that beneath their fear is the potential for two lovely, low-key companions who simply want a quiet, comfortable place to land. Their previous environment suggests they are accustomed to living alongside other cats, although they have never been around dogs or children.
Hazy and Tora are receiving much-needed medical care and getting ready for the next chapter of their lives. What they need now is someone willing to look past their frightened shelter selves and see two senior cats who deserve the chance to feel safe, comfortable and loved.
Could you be the person who gives Hazy and Tora a soft place to land, a little patience, and the peaceful retirement they've waited 13 years for?
