Imagine coming to work and finding a cat carrier with a note that simply says, “Help Me.” This is how Adele, a beautiful 1-year-old Persian cat, arrived at Toronto Humane Society. She was meowing in distress, eager to escape her confines.
At first, Adele appeared healthy, though a bit anxious. However, her condition soon worsened. She refused food and began vomiting. Further examinations revealed a congenital malformation in her diaphragm, causing her liver to press against her heart—a life-threatening condition that required immediate surgery.
Thanks to the generous support of animal lovers, we were able to perform the life-saving surgery Adele desperately needed. Her arrival at our shelter with just a plea for help highlights the importance of accessible veterinary care. No one should feel ashamed for being unable to afford treatment for their beloved pets, and your contributions make a crucial difference.
Your support ensures that animals like Adele receive the critical care they need and helps us provide accessible veterinary services to prevent situations where families have to part with their pets.
With your help, future pets can recover in the comfort of their own homes, giving them and their families the greatest gift of all—a chance to stay together. Your donation makes it possible for us to continue offering life-saving treatments and support to those in need.
Together, we can ensure that every animal has a chance at a brighter future.
