September 12, 2016 @ 9:00 am Pet of the Week – Macy Meet Macy, our little ray of sunshine. Macy is looking for a new forever home with a patient, caring family who can offer a large cage and lots of socialization. Cockatiels are beautiful birds that are inquisitive, social and very intelligent.
September 19, 2016 @ 9:00 am Nicholas How can you be handsome and shy at the same time? Come and meet Nicholas. Nicholas is having a hard time getting used to shelter life. Having spent all of his previous life in a home it is a bit of an adjustment for him to get used to the sights and sounds of the shelter. If you happen to have a bag of treats in your hand then you'll be sure to have a friend for life.
September 26, 2016 @ 9:00 am Pet of the Week – Athena Meet Athena! This mother's work is over after weaning off her 7 puppies she is looking for a forever home. Athena is a wise and lovely girl who needs help making friends with her canine pals.
September 27, 2016 @ 4:39 pm For All Dogs – Thank You For Your Support! Another year, another successful trip completed! Two teams of veterinarians, technicians and admin support staff spent two weeks providing free veterinary services to dogs and cats in remote northern communities.
October 3, 2016 @ 9:00 am Pet of the Week – Apples Apples the turtle has been in the shelter since July 2013. She is a big girl and will need a lot of swimming space along with a nice large basking area. She will be nervous at first, as she was here, but as time goes by she will really come "out of her shell" to interact and socialize with her new caregiver. She also loves food and often begs for treats!
October 10, 2016 @ 9:00 am Pet of the Week – Flynn As Flynn is lounging on the top of his box, he is so "Regal Looking" that you have to stop by and admire him. Flynn is having a hard time adjusting to shelter life. He is a shy boy who would like to have a patient guardian to show him his "Golden Years" can be very enjoyable.
October 17, 2016 @ 9:00 am Pet of the Week – Traveller Traveller (called Che by his current owners) is a handsome boy who is a sweet and loving dog. He can be a fearful and nervous dog so he will require an owner who will respect his space, have patience and a good understanding of dog body language. Traveller would be ideally suited to an experienced owner who has the patience to continue to work with him. He would do best in a low traffic home and could do well living with other dogs.
October 24, 2016 @ 9:00 am Pet of the Week – Captain Pancake Captain Pancake is here to save the day! She may not be able to fight crime, but she can make you smile and laugh. After being found outside she is looking for a home with a patient caregiver who can help boost her confidence. Due to some recent health concerns it is important that adopters have a vet who is experienced working with rabbits and realistic expectations on future care and cost.

November 4, 2016 @ 5:21 pm Fun Giving Tuesday Activities for Kids and Adults! Giving Tuesday, which takes place on November 29th 2016, is described as the ‘opening day of the Giving Season’. It’s a time for Canadians to come together and support their communities. It is also a day for us to kick off our Hope for the Holidays campaign here at the shelter! Our Hope for the Holidays campaign raises funds and awareness for the animals in our shelter, especially those who have been with us for a long a time and who we want to be in a loving, forever home in time for the holiday season!
