Join us in celebrating the latest legislation which bans cosmetic testing on animals across Canada!
On Thursday, June 22, 2023, the Canadian government passed measures through the Budget Implementation Act, Bill C-47. The latest amendments will prohibit cosmetic testing on animals in Canada, as well as selling cosmetics that “rely on new animal testing data to establish the product’s safety, and false or misleading labelling pertaining to the testing of cosmetics on animals.”
This news follows the update on Bill S-5, An Act to amend the Canadian Environmental Provision Act, which will phase out the testing of toxic chemicals on animals, while also better protecting the environment and health of Canadians.
With the passing of these landmark bills, animals cannot be used in Canada to test cosmetics and hundreds of thousands of animals will be saved each year from painful testing of different harmful substances commonly used in our homes and our daily lives.
History has been made to end the pain and suffering associated with animal testing! This moment would not be possible without animal lovers, like you, fighting for animal rights to bring a humane change for animals. Thank you!
