My girlfriend and I got Tully from Toronto Humane Society back in early September of 2024. When we first met her, she was so scared and unsure of us. On the drive home, my girlfriend sat in the back of the car with her to keep her comfortable.
When we got inside our apartment, she immediately jumped up on the couch and made herself comfortable. It was like she knew that she was home, and from that minute we have seen her grow, not only in size, but confidence and personality as well. She is still a shy girl, but once she gets to know you, she will be your shadow and constantly try to lick your face to show her love for you.
When she isn’t snuggled up on the couch with her Mom and Dad cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs, she can be found running around at the park and going for long trail walks. We are so excited for the upcoming summer with her. She has been to the family cottage, but the water was very cold, so she was unsure of it. Come summer, I have a feeling it will be hard to keep her out of the lake, as she absolutely loves bath time. She often jumps into the tub when I go into the washroom and is disappointed when she realizes it’s not bath time for her.
She has made many dog friends in our apartment building and politely sits and waits for other dogs to approach her before her excitement overwhelms her and she starts jumping and spinning in circles.
She is a goofy girl at heart and such a cuddle bug. She has made our lives so full of life. Seeing her learn and grow on a daily basis has been a blessing and taught us so much about ourselves. She is a constant reminder to enjoy the little things and to always take time for naps in the sun. We love Tully and are over the moon with our pairing from Toronto Humane Society.
