Happy Tails

We will never forget the day Mia came into our lives. Our hearts were so sad, and we were crying over the loss of our Pancho, to whom we had promised to give all our love, to a dog that needed our love and protection.

When we saw Mia on Toronto Humane Society’s website, without knowing her age, breed, or behaviour problems, we ran to look for her with the hope of being her new parents. When we went through the whole process and they handed her over, that little ball of fur with the face of Chewbacca arrived. We were so afraid of carrying her and hurting her as first-time parents, but as the days went by, we learned how to fill her with love.

Mia is a loving, obedient dog, but above all, full of love for us. We are discovering new things about her—for example, that she is very afraid of the trash, the broom, and people, especially men—but she is so full of love that she shows it every day. She brought light, hope, and, above all, healing to our hearts. Now, with love, patience, and little by little, she is losing her fear of life.

She saved me from the depression that I fight day after day.
