I just wanted to provide an update on the wonderful addition to our family: our cat Selena. There wasn’t a lot of information available on her when we first saw her picture on the website and she had undergone some dental procedure. Her sweet little face was still swollen in her picture and when my 14-year-old daughter saw her picture, she burst into tears and wanted to go and pick her up immediately. She said that Selena had chosen her.
Since this was to be her first pet and we had already discussed all of the responsibilities and issues that may arise, we made the appointment to come and visit her and learn all about her. We had a meeting with the veterinary technician and learned all about Selena’s difficulties with being handled or petted for too long or in certain ways. So we began doing some research, put any nerves/doubts we had aside, and took our new little “diva” home.
Selena has been an absolute joy to spend time with and learn about and we are so honored that we get to experience what real love is. She hasn’t required any medication for her anxiety and she has opened up and decided to trust us with petting her for longer periods of time. She is so smart and capable of showing us what her needs and boundaries are. Don’t get me wrong though, she is and always will be our little DIVA; it’s all on HER terms and HER mood, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!! Thank you for all of the information, support, knowledge, and guidance with getting Selena home!!
