A successful story from our Humane Champion program

| November 1, 2023

Disco was a stray dog, found in the rural area outside of Ohsweken and brought into our care.  He arrived with a curious and friendly energy but showing signs of a tough life.  He has severe dental disease, cataracts, and several masses on his body – including his abdomen, shoulder, chest, and above his eye.

Our veterinary team has been working hard and Disco has responded well to treatment, but still has far to go on his health journey.  We are so grateful to our donors who make it possible for us to provide medical care to complex cases like Disco, and other dogs like him.

While in our care, Disco has been loving the attention of staff and volunteers who take him for walks and out to play.  We’ve discovered that he isn’t particularly interested in treats but loves to explore every scent.

Be a Humane Champion monthly donor and change lives. Together we can continue to nurture the human-animal bond by directly supporting shelter care, training, education, and vet services. Your generosity means animals will live the life they were meant to live.
