The seven Pumpkin Spice Latte puppies were transferred to Toronto Humane Society from a medical clinic in southern Ontario through our Animal Transport Program.
During their intake exam, they were examined from nose to tail and found to be very healthy. They were given de-worming medication and vaccinated with Bordetella to protect them from kennel cough.
As these puppies came to us from an area where there is a high risk of heartworm and where ticks are in abundance, their new guardians were given paperwork to explain what would need to be done moving forward. Next spring, when the puppies are 7 months old, they will need to be tested for heartworm before beginning their heartworm medication. Meanwhile, the guardians have been advised to continue to check the fur for ticks.
All the Pumpkin Spice Latte puppies have been adopted.
