Toronto Humane Society recently had the pleasure of welcoming Emmy-nominated actress and animal advocate Lauren Ash for a heartwarming tour of our shelter. Best known for her roles in “Superstore” and “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power”, Lauren has long been a voice for animals, and her visit was nothing short of inspiring.
Lauren’s tour was a walk down memory lane. With a huge smile and open arms, she greeted our adoptable animals like old friends. From our playful pups to the calm, cuddly cats, each animal basked in her affection, soaking up every moment of love and attention. For Lauren, this was more than just a visit — it was a homecoming, a chance to reconnect with the organization and animals she’s always been passionate about. She spent time with many of our current residents, showing them the same love and care that she once provided as a previous feline volunteer at Toronto Humane Society.
For us, seeing Lauren back at the shelter was a reminder of how deeply our community cares for the animals we serve, and how even a small gesture of kindness can make a world of difference in their lives.

Lauren didn’t just stop by to share some love with the animals — she also filmed a powerful PSA to raise awareness for the programs that make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families. In the video, Lauren emphasizes the importance of donating to Toronto Humane Society’s life-changing programs, which help keep pets with their families, even through difficult times.
As Lauren says in her PSA, these programs wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our community. Every donation helps ensure that pets and their families stay together, healthy, and thriving.
Whether you’re a long-time supporter or just learning about our mission, we invite you to join Lauren Ash and make a difference today. Your donation can help provide critical care, food, and resources to animals in need, ensuring that they stay in the loving homes they deserve.
We are beyond grateful to Lauren for taking the time to visit, share her love with our animals, and help us spread the word about the programs that are making a real impact. Together, we can continue to build a compassionate community where pets and their families can stay together, no matter what challenges come their way.
