Petunia
Petunia
AVAILABLE FOR LONG TERM FOSTER.
Petunia - known to friends as Petoots, Petoonie, P, Shark Baby - is an extra special puppy who is full of personality. This silly goof is not a wallflower that will fade into the background - her antics guarantee you won't forget about her, and she is not afraid to tell you what's what. Food is the way to Petunia's heart. She likes all the food, every single kind. Some of her current favourites include peanut butter, Cheez Whiz, oatmeal, a finely crisped piece of thin crust pizza crust, as well as fruits and veggies (including banana, frozen strawberry, cucumber). Petunia is not one to turn down a dog treat.
Petunia is a well-behaved, sweet baby at home. You can usually find her chomping on a chew toy in her playpen, enjoying a frozen Kong on her dog bed, stretched out in front of the air conditioner, or being lulled to sleep by the chirping symphony of cat TV. Petunia does well in her crate and will eagerly hop in for a light scattering of Cheerios.
Out in public, Petunia can get extra silly and wild because there are so many exciting things to see, hear and smell. She is currently working on her puppy and leash manners; it is a work in progress. Outdoors, Petunia enjoys bird watching, chomping on the local flora, and relaxing in the grass.
Petunia came to the shelter after fracturing both of her elbows and a wrist. Her recovery has not been easy - ongoing exercise restriction and her physical limitations have prevented Petunia from doing a lot of normal puppy things. Petunia is looking for an extra special adopter. Someone dedicated to continuing her physical therapy and committed to taming this big baby shark; someone that understands the time associated with her recovery and long-term care; and importantly, someone willing to share their peanut butter.
