A Shy Newcomer Learning That People Can Be Kind
Meet this sweet boy, who is still very new to the shelter and understandably nervous in such a big, busy, unfamiliar place. Understandably, at the moment he prefers to keep to himself and observe from a safe spot, but even in these early days he's already showing signs that he wants to connect.
With a little quiet company and patience, he's begun to take those key steps forward - sniffing hands, accepting treats, and even leaning into the pets once he feels secure. While sudden movements can still make him pull back - more gentle, predictable interactions help him relax. Recently he even enjoyed his cheeks getting rubbed and rolled onto his side - wonderful signs of growing trust.
He would do best in a calm home with someone who understands that confidence takes time, and who will let him set the pace. With patience and kindness, this sensitive boy has all the potential to blossom into a loving, affectionate companion once he feels safe.
