Beyond the immediate benefit of obedience, participating in training classes enhances the human-animal bond. It builds trust, communication, and mutual respect between you and your pet. Toronto Humane Society’s Public Training and Behaviour classes provide a platform not only for skill acquisition but also for creating lasting memories and shared experiences.
Loki, a very happy and enthusiastic 100lb Rottweiler, posed a challenge for his pet parent during his walks. Recognizing the need for professional guidance, Loki’s pet parent turned to Toronto Humane Society’s Public Training for a series of private dog sports obedience classes to build engagement using positive reinforcement training.
Engaging in a series of classes, the duo worked on a variety of skills, setting incremental goals to achieve precision heeling, show-worthy finishes, high-speed recall, gait and position transitions, and hind end engagement.
Under the expert guidance of Toronto Humane Society’s trainers, Loki not only met but exceeded expectations, graduating with A+ scores. Loki’s pet parent expressed excitement about continuing Loki’s positive reinforcement training journey, equipped with the skills learned in class.
