Mike, a year-old mixed breed dog was transferred to Toronto Humane Society through our Animal Transport Program.
As an outdoor dog, Mike had not had any veterinary care. Our medical staff gave him his first vaccines, inserted a microchip, drew blood to check for wellness and for heartworm (the area he came from is a high heartworm risk area). As well, they searched his fur for ticks and found one.
When Mike’s heartworm testing came back negative, he was booked for his neuter surgery.
Mike has been adopted.
