At 9 years old, Wendy found herself back at Toronto Humane Society — overwhelmed by city life and unsure of what comes next. A gentle, sensitive soul, Wendy was struggling to adjust, her nervous shakes telling a story we hear all too often in senior pets who just need a little extra time, care and understanding.

From the moment she arrived, our veterinary team stepped in to ensure she felt safe and supported. She received a full medical exam, vaccinations, and diagnostics to prepare her for the next chapter. We discovered dental disease that will require treatment to relieve discomfort—something that, left unaddressed, would continue to impact her quality of life. She’s also been given medication to help ease her anxiety as she settles into a calmer routine.
