Four Little Boston Terriers Who Found Their New Beginnings

| November 3, 2025

This summer, four little Boston Terriers — Carver, Callum, Charlotte, and Charlie — changed our year at Toronto Humane Society.

When they arrived, each was in urgent need of care. They were underweight, fragile, and facing serious health challenges. Carver and Callum were battling painful skin and intestinal conditions. Charlotte suffered from severe dental disease and infection. And Charlie… his injuries were so severe that he required the amputation of his front leg.

Even in those first difficult days, their resilience shone through. Their eyes held trust, hope, and a quiet determination to heal — and thanks to the compassion of our community, that’s exactly what they did.

Because of generous donors, we were able to provide them with immediate medical treatment, nourishing meals, and the comfort of gentle care.

Today, we’re thrilled to share that Carver, Callum, Charlotte, and Charlie have all found their loving homes. Each of them now enjoys the love and comfort they always deserved — and it’s all thanks to the kindness of people who care deeply about animals.

When you flip through our 2026 New Beginnings Calendar, you’ll see Carver’s joyful face among many others who received their new beginnings this year. Each month is a celebration of the healing, hope, and new beginnings made possible by your support.

But for every pet whose story has already been rewritten, there are more waiting for their chance. Every day, frightened, injured, or ill animals come through our doors — each hoping for someone like you to help them start again.

Your support doesn’t just change the lives of animals who come into our care — it helps countless others stay out of the shelter system altogether. Thanks to our community of supporters, Toronto Humane Society can provide vital programs that help keep pets and people together, including:

  • Pet Food Bank – ensuring families never have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their beloved animals.
  • Accessible Veterinary Care – helping pets stay healthy without placing financial strain on their families.
  • Urgent Foster Care – providing temporary homes for pets whose families are facing crises such as illness, homelessness, or escaping violence.

These programs prevent unnecessary surrenders and ensure pets remain where they belong — with the people who love them.

As we look ahead to another year of hope and healing, we invite you to be part of even more new beginnings. Together, we can make sure that every Carver, Callum, Charlotte, and Charlie who walks through our doors gets the chance to thrive.
