It has been 3 weeks and Boone is settling nicely. We still haven’t renamed him but somehow Lasagna is becoming a top contender. He is breaking out of his shell and adapting to the condo somewhat, though he prefers the safety of the crate most of the time.
I kept him mostly in the sanctuary room for the first 2 weeks, occasionally opening the door to see if he was willing to explore. The door is now open almost all the time and he does come out. I hope he will become accustomed to having me around that he would be comfortable and not dash back to the crate.
