Adopting Charlie has been the best experience! Charlie was transferred in from Quebec. He was five years old. He was so handsome and a gentleman on his leash during our walks. He loved to play fetch. Charlie was at the Toronto Humane Society for a while. He didn’t present well because he was stressed in the shelter environment. He stole my heart! He was meant to be part of our family.
Charlie truly is the best boy! He has brought so much joy to our family. Charlie loves people and if you give him a treat, you’ve made a friend for life. He enjoys car rides. If we happened to walk by a car with the door open, he would try to get in. Charlie wakes up every day, tail wagging, ready for cuddles. Then it’s breakfast! He loves his walks and sniffing out all the new scents. His favourite pastime is nap time and boy does he love his nap time – he snores up a storm!
Charlie turned 16 this year. He has cataracts, and he needs a boost to get on the couch, but thank God his overall health is good. His eyes light up when he sees his ball, and he still loves to play fetch. He climbs stairs every day. Charlie gets excited at bedtime because he knows there’s a treat waiting for him on his bed!
Everyone at the Toronto Humane Society was amazing during Charlie’s adoption process, especially Shaz the dog behaviourist/trainer. They were helpful, explaining everything, including the dental work he needed to be done prior to the adoption.
