As living costs continue to rise while wages remain consistent, it is no longer a question of who needs our services, but rather how many?
In 2022, Toronto Humane Society’s Pet Food Bank provided over 50,000 pounds of pet food, which is about twice the weight of a school bus, to families facing hardship. This service has become a vital resource to many families in the GTA.
You can help us be there for more families in need by helping us win the $20,000 cash prize from the Great Canadian Giving Challenge. From now until the end of June, every dollar donated through CanadaHelps.org acts as a ballot for us to win the grand prize. $20,000 would go a long way in sustaining our community support programs, such as the Pet Food Bank, which helps to keep more families together.
Rising food costs and increased difficult living conditions are making it difficult for families to stay together. It’s become a nightmare for some families who have had to decide between buying food for their pet’s bowl or for their own.
Pet parents should never be faced with the challenging decision to surrender their pet because they can’t afford pet food during a difficult time. Our Pet Food Bank operates under a policy of zero judgement and provides pet food to families with no questions asked.
Photos from our Community Day event from May 4, 2023. Over 3,600 lbs of food was donated to families in need through our Pet Food Bank in one day.
With the support from compassionate donors and animal-lovers, like you, we can continue to be there for pet families in need.
Every dollar donated during the Great Canadian Giving Challenge counts. A $5 donation would increase our chances of winning by giving us 5 extra ballots! With $20,000, we would be able to distribute over 780 pounds of pet food through our Pet Food Bank. Imagine all the bellies and hearts 780 pounds of food will fill! Help keep more families together by clicking here to donate.
