Reflecting on 2023: A Year of Compassion and Urgent Action

| December 31, 2023

As we bid farewell to 2023, we reflect on a year that has challenged us, strengthened our resolve, and showcased the incredible power of compassion. We stand in awe of what we were able to accomplish together. Yet, the truth is, there is still so much more work to be done, and we urgently need you by our side in 2024.

While we’ve faced and conquered numerous challenges this year, the road ahead is long, and the journey to create lasting change for Toronto’s animals is ongoing. The critical issues we’ve encountered continue to demand attention and immediate action.

In 2023, our Pet Food Bank distributed over 170,000 pounds of food, our Urgent Program provided temporary housing for over 159 animals in acute crises, and our Public Veterinary Services delivered over 5,700 wellness appointments, over 5,300 spay and neuter surgeries, along with over $1,890,000 in subsidy care—keeping families together and providing hope to those in need.

As we reflect on our accomplishments, we are reminded that there’s more to be done. The dedication of our team, the compassion of our volunteers, and the support of donors like you have been the driving force behind our success. Your commitment fuels our mission, enabling us to adapt, innovative, and rise to the multifaceted challenges faced by the animals of Toronto and their families.

As we look ahead to the new year, we urgently call on you to continue being a part of this compassionate journey. Your support is the bedrock of our mission, and together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of countless pets and the families that cherish them.

Your tax-deductible donation before midnight on December 31st ensures that we can continue our work, providing care, shelter, and hope to those who need it most.

Thank you for being a beacon of hope for Toronto’s animals and their families. Your support has been the driving force behind our success in 2023, and we look forward to achieving even greater milestones together in the coming year.

Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a compassionate new year.
