Turn Your Love for Dogs into a Teaching Career

Do you already work with dogs and dream of leading your own training classes? The Toronto Humane Society’s Certified Group Dog Training Instructor Program is your chance to make it happen! 

This 23-week, in-person course is designed for experienced dog lovers who want to take the next step in their careers. Whether you work in a shelter, daycare, walking service, or are already training dogs one-on-one, this program will help you: 

  • Build your teaching skills 
  • Gain confidence as a group class leader 
  • Learn compassionate, science-based training techniques 
  • Earn continuing education credits (24 CCPDT CEUs for trainers and 6 CEUs for behaviour consultants – IAABC CEUs pending) 

By graduation, you’ll be ready to lead group training classes and help dogs—and their people—learn, grow, and thrive together. 

Program details: 

  • Start date: October 28, 2025 
  • Small cohort: Only 10 students 
  • Tuition: $3,000 (can be paid in 4 even increments) 
  • Application deadline: September 4, 2025 
  • Location: 11 River Street, Toronto, Ontario
